It’s raining, it’s pouring, but before you start snoring…

Fall is finally upon us and the first rain storm of the year has reminded us that there are several things we need to do to make sure that our homes are weather-tight.  Here is a short check list to go through to make sure that your home is ready for the season:

  • Check all the caulk around the windows and doors to ensure a tight seal.  Re-caulk if necessary.
  • Make sure all doors and windows are weather-tight; replace weather-stripping if needed.
  • Clear all gutters and spouts to prevent flooding
  • Have your chimneys and flues inspected
  • Vacuum all the summer dust from the drapes and window wells.
  • Dust fans and ceiling fixtures.
  • Have carpets professionally cleaned.
  • Drain sediment from water heater to ensure it performs at its best.

Luckily Perfect Shine Housekeeping has window and carpet cleaning teams available in addition to our regular housekeeping teams to help get your hope in tip-top shape for the fall and winter!  All you have to do is request the additional services when you make your appointment.

Thanks from the Perfect Shine Housekeeping team!
