Clogged Drains? Skip The Drano & Try This Eco-Friendly Approach!

A bathroom drain.

Every drain gets clogged from time to time. But that is no excuse to bring toxic chemicals into your home or the water supply! Try this green approach instead!

DIY Drain Opener

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2-3 quarts boiling water

Directions:

  1. Pour the salt and baking soda down the clogged drain.
  2. Then pour the vinegar down. Let it sit for 15 mins and admire the fizzing bubbles if you’d like.
  3. Flush the drain with the 2-3 quarts boiling water.
  4. Repeat as needed. Very big clogs may require a drain snake.
