Sometimes the smallest things can have the biggest impact on us and our environment. Like spending two minutes to put your laundry away instead of leaving it on a chair or the bed. Or just even making the bed. These quick tasks can really make your home feel more clean and peaceful. So what else can you do in just a few minutes that will have a big impact? Why not clean your kitchen sink? Load up the dishwasher and then give your sink some TLC that will have your kitchen smelling fresh! All it takes are a few simple ingredients and 5 minutes.

  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 3 drops of lavender, rosemary, lemon, or orange essential oil (whichever you prefer)
  • 1/2 cup to 1 cup vinegar for pre-rinse

  1. Mix up the first three ingredients in a large measuring cup or bowl.
  2. Make sure your sink is empty and rinse it well with hot water.
  3. To prevent residue from the baking soda you can rinse your sink with vinegar.
  4. Pour the cleanser into your sink and using a sponge or cloth wipe the sides and bottom in a circular motion.
  5. Rinse your sink again with hot water.

Super simple right? An added benefit of this cleaner: it helps clear out clogs and deodorizes your pipes! And it’s amazing how much cleaner your kitchen will feel when the sink is not only empty, but sparkling! Maybe it will inspire the kids or roommates to not leave a mess in the sink?
